Show Sixth District Court Actions PANGUnCH Judge David L. Mower presided over Sixth Judicial District Court on Thursday, Sept. 4. Danny Pedigo, 26, Kanab appeared ap-peared for a review of his case. He was originally charged with theft of a firearm in a 1995 incident in Panguitch which was plea-bargained down to attempted theft, a third degree felony. Pedigo was sentenced sen-tenced to 0-5 years incarceration and fined $9,250 including surcharge. sur-charge. The prison time was suspended sus-pended and he was placed on probation pro-bation for 18 months. He was ordered or-dered to pay $25 monthly until he had provided proof of completing his General Education Diploma to the court. Pedigo provided the GED verification to Adult Probation Proba-tion and Parole Officer Reid Bean and was released from further obligation to the court. However, her attorney, William Leigh was detained de-tained in a medical emergency in Cedar City. The case was continued contin-ued until Oct. 2. Troy Lyman, 39, of Escalante was before the court for entry of a plea on three charges stemming from an alleged domestic violence incident on Aug. 6. Lyman was charged with burglary (count 1), a second degree felony; assault domestic violence (count 2), a class B misdemeanor; and violation of a protective order (count 3), a class A misdemeanor. Prosecutor Wallace Wal-lace Lee had offered a plea bargain to Lyman whereby count 1 would be dismissed for entry of a guilty plea to counts 2 and 3. Lyman requested time to confer with his Attorney Willard Bishop of Cedar City and it was granted. Gregory K. Hughes, 37 of Tropic, was on the court calendar for an initial appearance on a single charge of forcible sexual abuse, a second degree felony. Hughes was represented by Attorney Marcus Taylor whole associate, Dale Eyre, was present in court. The matter was set for a preliminary hearing at 2 p.m. on Oct. 2. Neil Arthur Sawyer, 39, Pan-guitch, Pan-guitch, was before the court for a case review on a plea bargained sentence for attempted forcible sexual abuse. Originally sentenced to serve 90 days, with three days previously credited, Sawyer was awarded an early release from the Garfield County Jail after serving time since June 13. Sawyer is awaiting the start-up of an Intermountain Sexual Abuse Treatment program in Cedar City and fees incurred will be deducted from his court fine. At the request of I'SAT, AP&P suggested that the court enter an order requiring a mandatory 24 hours incarceration for Sawyer for each counseling session missed. The court entered the order. |
