Show Escalante News By Marlene Haws 826-4859 Thirty-four members of the Escalante LDS Second Ward went to St. George for a temple day. Eight members also of the Escalante LDS First Ward went also. Kathleen Woolsey, Cedar City, accompanied her mother, Thelma Marsh; LaRae (Griffin) Allen, LaVerkin was with Yukon and DeLynn Norman and we saw Virginia (Porter) Davenport, Summit there. After the temple session, Twila Mclnelly and Clorene Vidrine stayed on with family members in Si. George to keep doctor appointments. Vergean and Carolyn Porter spent the weekend in Cedar City with son and daughter-in-law, Clint and Shanna Porter. Rolain Alvey was in Cedar City with daughter and son-in-law, Dana and Darrell Alvey. My husband, Klyn Haws and I drove clear to Richfield to visit with Vernon and Hazel Griffin. They were at the hospital for doctor appointments the same time we were. They stayed overnight with their kids, Calvin and Carolyn Eyre, but we just got to have lunch with our daughter Jillyn Sorensen and baby Devyn of Salina. The Engbergs, Lora, Flint and Ted went to Taft, Calif, for the funeral fu-neral of Lora's father, LeRoy Rutherford. They appreciated the love and concern shown by everyone every-one here. Escalante City Marshall Shawn Hansen, has been in Spanish Fork to see his father, Rob Hansen, who is seriously ill. Rob was here for a visit not too long ago and seemed to be in good health then. Glen Wilson has been on vacation vaca-tion from work at the '66 station. He recently had surgery oh his nose and it turned out to be more extensive exten-sive than he had planned on. Get well soon, Glen, the work is piling up! Thelma Marsh spent a week in Cedar City visiting with the Warren Woolseys and her sister Virginia Bauer. Claude Jack Lyman, son of Kirk Lyman, Boulder, was recently injured in-jured quite badly while riding in a horse race at the track in Tucson, Ariz. He is doing better but will have to continue treatment for a while. All good wishes to him. The elementary school is preparing prepar-ing a Centennial program which promises to be something special.
