Show g , Tropic News By Margaret Shakespear 801-679-8749 It's cattle round up time in the valley. The cattlemen enjoy going down in the lower country to round up stray cattle to bring home. They have enjoyed fair weather while riding their horses. Bishop Lonnie Pollock will never forget this cattle drive because his leg got broken when he fell off his horse. Hopefully he will recover quickly. Malen and Sarah Littlefield have enjoyed a visit from their daughter, JaNell Cook of Virginia. The Rocky Mountain Food Show held in St. George was enjoyed en-joyed by local folks Stan and Nellie Mecham, Lowell and Margaret Mecham and Jean and Spring Seiler. Lowell and Margaret Mecham also went north to the doctors for a check up. Malen and Marian Mecham went to St. George for her eye check up and stopped briefly to visit .with Earl and Rachael Jolley who are homesick for Tropic. Margaret Shakespear met Maureen Mangum in Provo and had lunch together. Maureen recently re-cently had knee surgery and her husband, Kay said to tell everyone hello. Their latest grandparent news is that daughters Melissa and Amy are both expecting. The Bryce Valley school stu- dents enjoyed a musical assembly presented by the Jacob family from Orem. The LDS Young Women are making plans for their summer camp by certifying early on knot tying ty-ing and fire building skills. The LDS Young Men are making mak-ing plans for their annual horse pack trip in the lower country. The LDS Relief Society organization organi-zation held their work meeting and many of the women finished up their yard Easter bunny projects. Shelly Shakespear attended a 4-H 4-H Teen Leadership Retreat at Brian Head over the weekend. The Waldens reported that their business trip to New York ended all too soon, but much was accomplished. accom-plished. Ella Bybee is grateful to her sister, sis-ter, Jean Syrett who is helping her to recover from her surgery. Eva Dean Francisco is recovering at her daughter, Helena's home in Parowan. JoNeil Alvey is recovering recover-ing at her mother's home in St. George. Lesa Pollock is on the mend also. Some of the women in town have taken up playing volleyball once a week. Those who have are a little stiff, sore, and willing to do it all over again! |
