Show I Panguitch News By Mamie Talbot 676-8084 Visitors last week at the Jay Crosby home were son Richards and wife Betty of Yorba Linday, Calif, and their children Scott and Layla and baby son Tanner of Tucson, Ariz.; and Lando and Tiffany Crosby Voyle and baby Lyndse of Provo. Folks are hurrying hurry-ing to get their vacations in before be-fore school starts. Chuck and Darcy Osborn Hag-berg Hag-berg have moved into the A-frame house next to the Don Bridges. Jeff and Shawn Taylor have moved into the former Allen Hen-rie Hen-rie home. Jeff drives the bus for Bryce Scenic Tours. The Roe sisters: Winona Sevy, Beverly Crosby, Ardith Davis and Thais Griffin are back home after a great seven-state tour in the Nauvoo, Illi. area. Beverly reports they had a wonderful won-derful time. She had two days to wash and pack her clothes again, then she and husband Art and son Bill went to New Mexico to the wedding of granddaughter Rachel Ping, daughter of Ed and Kathy Crosby Ping. The wedding took place in the Mesa LDS Temple. While there Beverly met Kay Cameron Owens, Panguitch na- tive. Kay asked that she be remembered re-membered to the people of Panguitch Pan-guitch whom she loves dearly. She is married to Kern Owens son Eugene. Ken and Judy Roe have been here all summer and have now returned north to prepare for the marriage of their son. They say they will be back next summer as Judy helps run the indian store at Red Canyon for her folks Art and Wenda Mae Tebbs. Colleen Simkins is having an addition put on her home on River Lane. A very attractive garage and room are close to being finished. fin-ished. Lena Norton Miller will turned 90-years-old on Aug. 16. All the living members of the late Rob Nortons were here to help their sister celebrate: Amy, Jean, Louise, Merle, Melba, Howard and Don. All of Lena's children, grandchildren and most of the great-grandchildren made up the group of 60 that gathered at the Marilyn Veater home. The older Norton family members enjoyed touring their hometown and visiting visit-ing their former home, which is owned by Norma Talbot. Work has started on the new gym at the elementary school. It will be built up, not moved in, and is going to be very roomy. Receiving mission calls in the Panguitch area were Eric Sawyer, son of Rick and Susan Sawyer; Brandon Henrie, son of Chris and Judy Davis and the late Dennis Henrie; and Alleen Henrie and brother Marc Henrie, daughter and son of Allen and Jeannie Henrie. On Sun., Aug. 17, at Panguitch 3rd Ward meeting, Sally and Jeff Cooper has the mission farewell. They are the son and daughter of Jim and Kathleen Cooper. Grandparents in town are Ophelia Cooper, Otho and Shirley Bulkley and great-grandmother great-grandmother is Savella Sanford. Speakers in Panguitch 2nd Ward LDS Sacrament meeting on Aug. 17 were Carla Farns worth and Dusty Orton, youth speakers. Stake High Council speakers were Clark Howard, who recalled many old times and president Joe Black, who explained the long, involved process that was gone through to divide the three Panguitch Pan-guitch wards into four. Keith and Elouise Tacy are back home after several weeks of touring. They live in the former Ruland and Berniece Veater home. Mary Black is in a Salt Lake City hospital after serious surgery. Congratulations to Josh Soper Casey's champion lamb sold for $807. School personnel are hard at work this week preparing for the start of school this week. |
