Show Tropic News By Ronnie Brinkerhoff 679-8734 Talked to Dorie Baugh on the phone who reported the birth of Alannah Josette Goulding, Dec. 23. She weighed in at only 4 lbs. 2 ozs. but is a huge joy to her parents, par-ents, Lourdes and Michelle Goulding of Phoenix, Ariz. Grandparents are Alan and Jane Rizzone of Ontario, Calif, and great-grandmother Shanna Goulding of St. George. Dorie stated she felt like a grandparent too, since Michelle spent many years in their home here in Tropic. Dorie also reported her children were all home for the holidays Christ, Jana and Dana from Cedar City; Cari from Salina where she teaches business at North Sevier High School. Dorie's mother, Shanna Goulding, spent the Christmas holiday with the family as well. The Bryce Valley basketball team, under the leadership of Coach Craig Hughes attended the Milford Classic Invitational in Milford. The Mustangs won two of two. Congratulations team. Doug and Vickie Ahlstrom and family are thrilled to have daughter, Julie Ahlstrom home after serving 18 months in the LDS mission field in Oregon. Jack and Janet Pollock enjoyed a special family dinner at their home with 21 family members in attendance atten-dance to enjoy good company and delicious food. Louise Shakespear, Orderville, visited at Malen and Sara Littlefield's home. Louie was in Tropic for the 50lh wedding celebration celebra-tion for Obie and June Shakespear. Sara and Louie brought the New Year in together. Gary and Kristine Bybee, St. George; Sharon and Chris White, Santa Clara and daughter, Cristan and her husband, Coby, also of St. George visited at the home of Give and Thelma Bybee. Carter Paul Mortenson was born Jan. 3 at the Valley View Medical Center, Cedar City to Shawn and Crystal Mortenson. Grandparents are Paul and Keela Mangum, Tropic and Lyle and Nancy Mortenson, Cedar City. Great-grandparents are Iris Bushnell, Henrieville; Viola Nowers, Beaver and great-grandfather Wimmer Mortenson, Parowan. Randel and Dianna Leslie are the proud parents of a baby boy, Trenton Kenneth, born Jan. 3 at Garfield Memorial Hospital, who was the first baby of the new year. Grandparents are Kenneth and Doris Leslie, Panguitch and Raymond and Ronnie Brinkerhoff, Tropic. Great grandmothers are Ora Brinkerhoff, Tropic and Dellis LeFevre, Panguitch. Great-great-grandmother is Amplus LeFevre. Trenton is the Brinkerhoff s first grandson. Tina Foster is home from the hospital after a round with pneumonia. pneu-monia. Tina is a daughter of Alfred and Toni Foster. Sick or not, Tina was not happy to be there but she did enjoy lots of visits from classmates class-mates and friends. Kaden Pollock, son of Steve and Machele Pollock, had his tonsils out Jan. 3. Main dish, ice cream. Marty Ott and his daughter, Lee of Riverton, were in town visiting with his mother Faye Ott. Marty is the Utah Park co-ordinator and was busy on the phone calling park superintendents to take down barricades barri-cades and open the gates to the parks. College students are back in the classroom, several returning home to attend the Bryce Valley-Milford basketball game, Friday. Coach Greg Hughes was beaming as the Mustangs charged to victory. Stonnie Burningham, Panguitch, a student at Dixie College, was in town visiting at the Ferrell and Raymond Brinkerhoff homes. Kay Barton and family were in town for a short visit at his brother, Berdell Barton's home. The brothers broth-ers are sprucing up their childhood home. As neighbors in the area, we miss their mother, Darma Barton, a great neighbor and fine lady. |
