Show BCNP Releases Shuttle Review BRYCE CANYON NATIONAL NA-TIONAL PARK Bryce Canyon National Park has prepared an Environmental Envi-ronmental Assessment to evaluate the potential impacts of a proposed shuttle system proposed to operate during the summer visitation period. pe-riod. Currently, the park experiences experi-ences severe traffic congestion and parking lot gridlock during the summer months. Under the proposed pro-posed system, a staging area would be constructed on private lands outside out-side the park. Visitors would have the option to use the shuttle service, serv-ice, which would provide regular access to the most popular facilities, facili-ties, trailheads and overlooks. Superintendent Fred Fagergren stated,"The proposed shuttle system sys-tem would increase visitor enjoyment enjoy-ment by both reducing vehicle congestion con-gestion and improve hiking opportunities. oppor-tunities. The proposed shuttle system would use buses and provide regular service during daylight hours. Park visitors could still choose to bring their private vehicles into the park, but would pay an additional fee.
