Show I Tropic News"! By Louise Ott 679-8776 Bowdie Pollock reported a successful mission to Edinburgh ; Scotland. Bowdie's brother Ston nie and wife Francine Pollock and son Jake were up from Albuquerque, Albu-querque, New Mex.. along with Cherrie and daughter Jay Dee Stewart from Florida; grandparents grandpar-ents Desmond and Gretha Twitchell from Cannonville; Mary Lou and Darrel Neilson from Henrieville Hen-rieville were also in attendance LaMar and Ethel LeFevre were in Las Vegas, Nev. to attend -grandson Cody's Eagle Scout awards ceremony. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs Leslie LeFevre. LaMar said that Cody's Bishop, Stake President and Scout Master are all lawyers, and was telling. Cody that he needs to follow in, their footsteps. They attended a rodeo while there and celebrated their 53rd anniversary. Bret and Lesa Taylor had Lesa's parents Richard and Penny Albrecht from Minersville here to help Lesa and grandson Riley celebrate their birthday. Lesa's two sister, Andrea and Melissa, were here also. Eva Dean and Charles Francisco Fran-cisco were in St. George at the LDS temple for a few days. They enjoyed walking arm in arm through the leaves and remembering remember-ing happy days as children doing the same activity. Eva Dean went to Monroe to attend Christmas Christ-mas programs that her grandchildren grandchil-dren were in. They are Robyn and Sharon Griffin. Chrishel and Tim Leach attended at-tended the LDS temple in St. George with Rod and Kathern Syrett. Mary Miller Boyd spent the holidays with her husband Carl in Kentucky and will visit daughter Kathryn in Indiana. Indiana is just over the border, so they say. Faye and DeVar Pollock attended at-tended the wedding of grandson Kelly Chamberlain at the Mt. Timpanogos LDS Temple, then went on to Elko for the reception and to visit their daughter Kathy and Brent and help them. Raymond and Ronnie Brinker-hoff Brinker-hoff have a new grandson, Denny Randell Leslie, son of Randall and Diana Leslie. Denny had to stay in the hospital a little longer. Cheri and LaMar Feltner have a new granddaughter born to Tracy and Shauna Feltner in Cedar Ce-dar City. There is a sister and brother to welcome the new one. Congratulations to all of you. We have been having warm weather for this time of year, after all it is still fall, and on Dec. 22 it turns winter and we all know what kind of weather that will bring. Hope we get some storm even though it makes it cold. Rella and Royal Alvey are getting some new cabinets put in their home for Christmas. Mondell and Florence Syrett have a beautiful new fence. Visiting with the Silas Mun-son's Mun-son's was son Don and Dixie Munson from St. George. Verlyn reports that Don had hip surgery and is doing great. Arvile Richards visited his parents Nyle and Merle Richards overnight. It good to have family drop in once in a while. . There have been a lot of activities ac-tivities going on in town with Christmas parties, Lion's Club, faculty and the Young Men and Women going throughout the town singing Christmas carols. That is always special. Going out of town to finish their shopping were Marie Pollock Pol-lock and JoNeil Alvey. They went to Provo and back in one day and had an enjoyable time together. Blaine and Shauana Anderson were in Las Vegas, Nev. The Tropic Single Adult family fam-ily home evening group held their Christmas party Monday evening at the home of Ella Adair. Alter enjoying a delicious dinner prepared pre-pared by Ella's daughter Bonnie Miles, the group exchanged gifts, watched a film about the pioneers and the Hole-In-The-Rock expedition, expedi-tion, and told stories about when they were growing up, Christmas, family traditions and fun times as they sat by the fireplace. Present were Gloria Hayden, Anna Marie Johnson, Ella Bybee, Ella Adair, Margaret Mecham and Minnie Nielson. |
