Show i llenrtevilte News By Wynona Henderson 679-8560 LDS Stake Conference was held in Escalante on Sunday. Elder Mitch Meyers, Delta, accompanied by his wife, was the visiting General Authority. They were very impressed with the friendly people and the beautiful scenery. A large crowd was in attendance. Deward and ReVon Smith, Hawthorne, Nev., visited with his Bushnell and Doris Liles. Amy Clarke had been visiting friends and came home with the Smiths. Sandy Johnson was sustained in LDS Stake Conference as Young Women's president, Ellen Clarke as 1st counselor and Kathy Fletcher as 2nd counselor, with Julie Bybee as secretary. Beverly Thompson went to Las Vegas, Nev. where her daughter and son-in-law Rachel and Garrett Bright had a new baby boy. His name will be Zachary Hanz Bright. He weighed 8 lbs. 4 oz. and was 19 12 inches long. Ruth and Sarah Johnson, who attend Southern Utah University, were home for the weekend. Rachael Johnson has moved to Provo and is staying with Joe and Ann Nelson, her aunt and uncle. She is working as a receptionist at Utah Valley Community College. Carlon and Heather Johnson and family drove to Las Vegas and then flew to southern California to spend time visiting relatives and all the fun spots. The LDS High Priest group held a successful social with a bake oven dinner and a program. Katherine Boyd played a violin solo and Ken Goulding sang. A good crowd was in attendance. Klin and Nancy Chynoweth were in St. George where boys Klinton and Klay participated in high school rodeo in calf roping. Shelly Chynoweth also participated in the barrels and poles. They all did a great job. John Barnett has a real cow story. It started at Pink Cliffs junction when the cow jumped out of the trailer on its way to Henrieville. After chasing the cow for several hours on foot, and with the help of several local folks (with bus tours and vacationers looking on), the cow decided to join the rodeo stock at Rubys Inn. It stayed there several days until it was successfully (See HENRIEVILLE on page 3-A) Henrieville News From Page 2-A removed. Nathan and Lori Piatt went to Orem ro visit her family. Heath Piatt, son of the Ken Platts, has been in Korea but is now in Las Vegas for further schooling. Ken and Artoise Piatt spent a day in Cedar City. Dewey and Teroa Willis attended services for Georgia Middleton Limb's mother-in-law and Lloyd Limb's mother; Georgia is a niece to the Willises. Thor Johnson has returned from Alaska after helping brother Harry. They were in Eagle River where Thor's wife Cindy met him and then they went on to celebrate Cindy's birthday. On the way home they visited with Elaine Brough and family whose son Joel had recently returned from his mission to Japan. After attending LDS Stake Conference, John and Ann Barnett and Ernie and Wynona Henderson had lunch with Cal and Martha Schow and Rhoda Shafer had cataract surgery in St. George. Everyone wishes her well. Lyllian Shakespear went to Cedar City with Lisa Lyman and her girls of Escalante, for a day of shopping. |
