Show Cannonvill? Hews By Marva Fletcher 679-8521 Rosie Fletcher came Thursday to attend a Seminar at Ruby's Inn on Friday and spent the weekend with her parents, Clele and Marva Fletcher. Clele came home from the Care Center Saturday to instruct Rosie and Marva on how to get a garden ready to plant. Speakers in LDS Sacrament Meeting Sunday were Kathryn Car-leton Car-leton and Candace Studor. Youth speaker was Sherry Moss, and High Councilman Joe Thompson spoke. The Cannonville LDS Ward Conference will be held next Sunday. Sun-day. Everyone is invited to attend the LDS the Relief Society birthday celebration to be held Mar. 17 starting start-ing at 6:30 p.m. Our hopes and prayers continue to be with Bonnie Willis, who had laser surgery on Monday. We all love and miss her very much. Larry and Glenna Fletcher recently re-cently went to Orem to attend the funeral services for their former bishop, Steven John Anderson. While there, they visited with many dear friends and members of their former LDS ward. Five women went on the March LDS Temple trip. This time they attended the Manti Temple and were treated to tours of various parts of that beautiful building that most people do not see. Those attending were Ramona Morreale, Anita Fletcher, Glenda Feltner, Kathy Carleton and Phyllis Beard. The LDS Relief Society birthday birth-day social was held on the 157th anniversary of the founding of the organization. The theme for the evening was "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" with rainbow-colored streamers and even a rainbow colored col-ored parachute. A wonderful lasa-gna lasa-gna dinner was served and the games played included "Family Feud" and "Pop the Balloons". Marie Hayden chaired the event and was aided by her mom, Cookie Riffel, with Kathy Carleton in charge of the food. The evening was full of belly-laughs and good-natured good-natured fun. (See CANNONVILLE on page 4-A) Cannonville News From page 2-A A.C. and Rita Hammer returned from Olympia, Wash., where they attended the blessing of a new grandchild. Both of them expressed how grateful they are to be back in beautiful Cannonville. Clyde and Cail Heiner, who bought Melda Davis', home came for the weekend. They were accompanied ac-companied by their daughter and her friend. . A group of friends and family took Glenna Fletcher to dinner at HooDoos in Tropic Tuesday to celebrate her birthday. Kay Dunham, Dun-ham, Phyllis Beard, Arma Stock, Cathy Fletcher, Gail Fletcher, Anita Fletcher, Lynnae Gajardo and daughter, Pamela, all of Cannonville, Cannon-ville, and Joyce Johnson and daughter, daugh-ter, Candace of Panguitch. They had a nice time. Hernan Gajardo came and took his wife Lynnae and daughter, Pamela Pam-ela back to their home in Orem. A beautiful LDS Ward Conference Confer-ence was held here on Sunday with all the members of the stake presidency, presi-dency, many high council members and stake leaders of all the auxiliaries auxilia-ries attending. Talks were given by Relief Society Preseident Anita Fletcher, Bishop Larry Fletcher and President Eddie Shakespeare. The ward choir sang for the conference. Camden Twitchell successfully completed his Eagle Scout project by repairing the trail for the handicapped handi-capped at Kodachrome State Park. The trail had eroded badly in places and the cement was breaking up. Thirteen scouts and leaders participated. partici-pated. They hauled large rocks from alongside the road and rebuilt the trail to make it safe again. It was a very successful and much-needed much-needed accomplishment.
