Show By Ronnie Brinkerhoff 679-8734 LaFaun Pollock took a bad fall recently. With assistance from local EMTs and a ride in the ambulance, she was taken to the hospital in Panguitch, LaFaun walks to the store and the post office almost daily and enjoys the seasons. Her fall ironically happened in front of the home where she grew up as a girl; the daughter of John and Ethel Hatch, both now deceased. She is staying with her daughter Lorna Bamhurst in Hatch while she recovers. recov-ers. We wish you well, LaFaun! Bob Bradley is doing well after undergoing surgery at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas. Bob served in the Air Force during World War II. Hope to see you out and about soon. Bob! Ora Brinkerhoff is in Las Vegas visiting with daughter Oretta Malmedal and family. Lester and Vertis Clark spent a couple of weeks in Elko, Nev. with the son Wesley Clark and family. Ronnie Brinkerhoff spent several days in Cedar City at the home of her daughter Amber Simons. The two traveled to St. George and ran into Kristine Milne, daughter of Jack and Mae Chynoweth. Kristine stated how disappointed she is when the Tropic News is short, so we need to hear from you folks. Ronnie and Amber also ran into Lee and Thelma Smith of Henrieville. It is always good to visit neighbors, especially when it is miles from home. Phyllis Stewart was shocked to see a raging fire out in their back yard last Friday. The Stewarts lost a shed, a corral, chickens and a chicken coop. Bowdie Pollock, Steve Barker, and Clint Pollock enjoyed a "final supper" together before Bowdie departs de-parts on his mission to Scotland. Bishop Lonnie Pollock and family fam-ily along with soon-to-be missionary mission-ary Bowdie traveled to St. George to attend a session at the LDS Temple. The Bryce Valley girls basketball basket-ball team played a game against Panguitch on last Wednesday night. It was a special "Meet The Team" night. The boys basketball team played a 24-minute scrimmage to get the audience excited about the upcoming season. Sherlyn Chynoweth enjoyed a birthday parly at Pine Lake with family members. Sherlyn and her sisters Savannah and Roxie all caught fish. Grandma's Ronnie Brinkerhoff, Lael Chynoweth, and Catherine Littlefield watched from the sidelines thinking, "they cast like pros." But then they have good training from grandpa Marion Littlefield, who has even turned son-in-law Brett Chynoweth into an avid fisherman. The day was beautiful beauti-ful for Nov. 19 sunny and warm. Sheree Garrett has been painting walls and sprucing up while Jim is off pheasant hunting in North Dakota. Sheree has been in Cedar City visiting sons Shannon and Chip and also son Lane, who is in the Air Force and stationed in Ogden. Son Shane of Boise, Ida. and his girlfriend Karyn Cordova of Grand Junction, Colo., along with Sheree's parents, John and Maxine Himmelberger of Monticello, will be visitors at Sheree's home over the Thanksgiving holiday. Jim Walstead is enjoying his stay in North Dakota and called Sheree, excited to tell her that his four-month-old bird dog, Shaque, had flushed out two hens. Jerry and Carol Pollock are in Chilliwak, Canada. They will re turn to Tropic on Dec. 3 with their daughter Kristine who has been in Canada on her LDS mission. The George Wilsons went up to the Salt Lake City area for Thanksgiving and enjoyed the company of David J. (Larry) Wilson, his wife Judy, son David and friend, Jerry and his daughters Tawnie, Mary and Christie and her husband and son, Michael and Cameron Earnhart and his other son, Michael. Also on hand were his sisters Zoe McKendrick and JoAnn Lither and son, Leonard. In the evening their granddaughters, who had come to Ogden for Thanksgiving, came down to visit with them including Lony and Holly Orozco from Willows, Calif, and Luke and Pamela Dawson and daughter, Samantha from Taft, Calif. On the way up, the day before Thanksgiving, they stopped in Provo and saw Jim and Blaine Robinson and go some much needed health help in the form of zoning. Betty Wintch reports that she and Kent cooked two Thanksgiving dinners this year. Their son, Rhett Wintch, wife Lisa and four children Cherie, Nicole, Brycen and Nathan and Lisa's teenage brother, Aaron Holdsworth, came to visit the weekend prior to Thanksgiving, so they enjoyed an early turkey feast together. Then on Thanksgiving, their oldest son, Kenneth Wintch and his son Adam came to spend the holiday. All the visiting family was from Las Vegas, Nev. A special friend of the Wintch family, Barbara Munson from Orem, stopped by for a visit on Thanksgiving day also. Also Betty's sister, Sylvia Luker from Escalante, came by the following day for a holiday visit. Margaret Mecham and daughter Margie report visits from family members over the Thanksgiving holiday including Neldon and Vera Larsen, Richfield; Bob and Garnet Barton, Cedar City and Vemal and Linda Mecham, Heber City and their families. Louise Ott reports visits from her brother, Kenneth Heywood and wife Loraine, Wasco, Calif.; son True Ott and grandsons Jeremy and Nathan, Cedar City who spent a night. Also daughter Marilyn and husband Shawn Holly of Ogden stayed the weekend. Stan and Louise were in Salt Lake City once again for doctor checkups and the news is, Stan is doing well. Ruth Baugh reports that she and Mate have a new grandson born Nov. 9 to Dallen and Katherine Baugh, Orem. Dallen and the girls came to Tropic for turkey day and little brother stayed home with mom. Also visiting was sister Renee and husband Ben Porter, Provo; nephew Jim, niece Shelly Olsen, Provo; Blake D. Robinson, Salt Lake and Blake Robinson, Phoenix, Ariz. The Baugh's daughter daugh-ter Kelly, husband Birch Moore and family, as well as brother Justin Baugh all came home. Randal and Diana Leslie visited with his sister Robin Barton and family, Richfield. Randal's folks. Ken and Doris Leslie, Panguitch, along with the rest of the family, met in Richfield to have family pictures pic-tures taken. |
