The National Honor Society was founded in 1921 by a group of secondary principals who wanted to recognize and acknowledge students who had not only a good academic record, but also exemplified other qualities they felt were needed by citizens in a democracy. Members are selected by the faculty council based on the student's stu-dent's Grade Point Average, leadership leader-ship abilities, character, and services ser-vices to the community and school. The National Honor Society's motto "Noblesse Oblige" obligates members to act honorably, responsibly respon-sibly and generously toward others. |
