J Royce Pollock Pollock Honored With Award PANGUITCH Royce Pollock, 38, of Panguitch has been awarded the Silver Beaver, the second sec-ond highest award given by the Boy Scouting program. He was presented pre-sented the award by Congressman Bill Orton in a recent ceremony in Provo at the Utah National Parks Council. Pollock was one of 50 scouters receiving the award from among 300 men and women nominated. He has held numerous positions during his scouting career through the past 16 years including Scoutmaster, Scout-master, Assistant Scoutmaster, Troop Committee Member, Varsity Coach, LDS Stake Young Mens President over Explorers, District, Timberline Staff as Assistant Scout-master and Quartermaster. He has previously received his Second Miler award, Boy Scout Leader Training award, the Commissioners Com-missioners Scout Key, the Arrowhead award and the District Award of Merit. Pollock believes that scouting makes young men great young men and future leaders. He is very dedicated dedi-cated to the scouting program and believes in service. He has three sons active in scouting including Trevor, 16 and Josh 14, both Eagle Scouts, and Cody, 12, now a Life Scout. His wife, Debbie serves on the Advancement Committee in the church ward. Pollock is a son of Adrian and Glenna Pollock of Tropic. |
