Show 7 From Garfield County Participate At U. of U. Seven Garfield County residents resi-dents attended a week-long seminar at the University of Utah June 21-25. 21-25. The 40-hour course, on alcohol and drug dependencies was partially partial-ly funded by Garfield County which matched scholarships from the University of Utah for this annual an-nual training. Maria Gilbert and Marilyn Bulkley, Panguitch, and Vicki Syrett, Tropic, attended the education educa-tion and prevention portion; Deanna Moore and Chris Gilbert, Panguitch, took part in the nursing department; Ross Williams, Panguitch, Pan-guitch, the counseling section; and Kevin Moore, Panguitch, the law enforcement block. This is the- largest group to have participated from Garfield County. Three college credits in health were offered for an additional individual in-dividual fee to every person who attended. Each participant will coordinate coordi-nate with Maria Gilbert on his or her individual area of expertise thus utilizing the information gained from this week-long course during the upcoming year. All who participated said they "gleaned much." Gilbert would like to thank those who participated participa-ted for their donated time, their families for supporting them and to Garfield County for financial support. |
