Riding as a passenger in the Callahan vehicle was seven-months seven-months pregnant Linda Palfreyman. The Haycock vehicle continued in a straight line, striking the vehicle vehi-cle immediately following the belly dump before coming to a stop. The 1993 Buick Century rental car was operated by Carl Marquardt, 44, of Luneburg, Germany. With him were his wife and two children. They were not injured. Garfield County Sheriffs deputy Celeste Bernards was also traveling westbound on the same highway, only moments behind the accident. She immediately called for an ambulance am-bulance and began directing traffic and investigating the accident. Haycock, Callahan and Palfreyman Palfrey-man were transported to Garfield Memorial Hospital in the Bryce Mountain ambulance..
