Show Dora Lavina Littlefield Henderson SALT LAKE CITY - CAN-NONVILLE CAN-NONVILLE Dora Lavina Little-field Little-field Henderson, 95, much loved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away on Dec. 24, 1994 at the home of her daughter in Salt Lake City. She was born Sept. 17, 1899 in Henrieville, Utah to Joseph Edwin and Martha Jane Smith Littlefield, the eldest of five sisters. She took care of her four younger sisters when her windowed mother was forced to go to work to provide for her family. She married Roy Henderson May 13, 1919 in Junction, Utah; their marriage was solemnized at the St. George LDS Temple on June 6, 1946. He died on April 20, 1940. Everyone was always welcome wel-come at Roy and Dora's house in Cannonvillc for a homc-cooked meal and a place to stay overnight. She served in the LDS Relief Society for many years and enjoyed serving two stake missions as a stake missionary. She was devoted to doing genealogy work for her progenitors. Her faith sustained her through trials throughout her life. She was a proud member of the Gold Star Mothers of America. Roy and Dora were parents of six children, two of whom survive: son Ernie and his wife Wynona Henderson, West Valley, Utah and Joan H. Cowlcs, North Salt Lake, Utah; 12 grandchildren, 28 greatgrandchildren; great-grandchildren; one brother and three sisters, James L. Reynolds, Murray, Mur-ray, Utah; Nellie Bailey, Escalante, Utah; Mrs. Clyde (Ilctta) Robbins J Dora Lavina Henderson and Mrs. Dave (Beth) Baxter, both of Orcm, Utah. She is preceded in death by her husband who died in 1940, a daughter daugh-ter LaNcll who died in 1942 and two sons, Junior and Eddie, who died in February 1945 serving their country during World War II. Another An-other son, Earl, died in 1988. Funeral services are set for Thursday, Dec. 29, 1994 at noon in Cannonvillc at the Cannonville LDS Ward chapel. Burial will be in the Cannonvillc Cemetery under direction of Neal S. Maglcby & Sons, Richfield. The family expresses gratitude to Tammy and Stacy of Davis Community Nursing staff. Cleo Allen Henrie PANGUITCH Cleo Allen Henrie, 73, of Panguitch, Utah died Dec. 24, 1994 at the home of her son in Provo, Utah. She was born Nov. 3, 1921 in Panguitch to Earl and Beulah Crosby Allen. She married Konroy Henrie Sept. 21, 1944 in the St. George LDS Temple. Tem-ple. He preceded her in death Nov. 3, 1993. Cleo grew up in Panguitch helping her mother with nursing chores. After graduating from high school, she attended the University of Utah and graduated with a degree in nursing. She worked for over 35 years as a nurse, serving the people of Panguitch and surrounding communities. She quit only to take care of her aging parents. She was an "old fashioned" nurse who served out of loyalty and dedication. Cleo was active in the LDS Church, serving in many callings, including Young Womcns, Primary and Relief Society presidencies. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She loved life. In spite of her illness the past four years, she was pleasant, easy to care for and a joy to be around. She will be missed by all who knew her. Survivors include her children and their spouses, Jcddie Bryan and Judy Henrie, Provo; Allen K. and Jeannie Henrie, Panguitch; Ada Marie and Charles Barney, Kanab, Utah; Clcola and Charles Bess, Ivins, Utah; 20 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; four brothers broth-ers and a sister, Sam Allen, Panguitch; Pan-guitch; Clem Allen (twin), Provo; George Allen, Phoenix, Ariz.; Rowa Lee, Panaca, Nev.; and' Whortcn Allen, Logan, Utah. She is preceded in death by her husband and her parents. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Tues-day, Dec. 26, 1994 at the Panguitch LDS 2nd Ward Chapel with Bishop Val D. Church officiating. A son, Jcddie Bryan Henrie, offered the family prayer. Prelude and postludc music was by Barbara Hcaton and Barbara Orion. Son-in- ; ' i ft ' . Cleo Henrie law Charles Barney gave the opening prayer. Tributes were provided by daughters Ada Marie Bamey and Clcola Bess followed by a vocal solo by Tammy Houston, "My Mother's Hands," and accompanied by Gloria Houston. Speakers were her brother Clem Allen and sister-in-law Alice Henrie, with a vocal selection by her granddaughters accompanied by Pam Yardley. A friend, Myrtle Hcywood, also spoke and Bishop Church offered closing remarks. The congregation sang "Because I have Given Much," and the benediction was offered by son-in-law Charles Bess. Honorary pallbearers were her brothers. Her grandsons were pallbearers, pall-bearers, Ryan Henrie, Troy Henrie, Boyd Barney, Sonny Henrie, Todd Barney, Marc Henrie, K.C. Bess, David Henrie, Benjamin Bess, Kirk Barney, Cameron Henrie, Burke Bess, Alex Bess, and Zachary Bess. Flower girls were her granddaughters, grand-daughters, Shcllic Reich, Holly Smith, Jodi Henrie, Allcen Henrie, Angela Barney and Kale Marie Bess. Son Allen K. Henrie dedicated her grave at the Panguitch City Cemetery. Funeral directors were Neal S. Maglcby & Sons, Richfield. |
