Show Boulder News By Jeanne Harshman 335-7345 Oh, the cold wind is blowing and winter will soon be upon us soon. Up on Boulder mountain the first heavy snow fell this past week leaving some icy roads and drivers forced to remember it's time to slow down. Here in Boulder a baby shower was held for Katie Austin at the Boulder Mountain Lodge. She is expecting her first baby around the first of December. She and hubby Mark are very excited about the new arrival. The Boulder LDS Relief Society homemaking meeting was a busy evening. Everyone brought their favorite recipes for Jolene Lyman who will soon be married. Home canned and general canned goods were brought to help get started preparing meals for her soon-to-be new husband, Joe Phillips of Escalante. The evening was creative cre-ative and fun as some worked on a quilt for her and others embroidered and painted dish towels. A wonderful wonder-ful refreshment of pumpkin cake with cream icing was served to top off a very rewarding evening. A few nights later Barbara Van Quill held a bridal shower for Jolene Lyman. Many turned out with a variety of gifts, many handmade, hand-made, mostly for the kitchen. Those attending were Idona Haws, Veda Behunin, Connie Jepson, Barbara Gardner, Dorothy Lyman, Naomi Brems, Gladys LeFevre, Evonne Roundy, Karla Roundy, Jeanne Harshman, and Lacey, Jolene and Julie Lyman. Ada Cox couldn't attend but sent a lovely gift. The wedding will take place Friday, Nov. 18 at the Boulder LDS Chapel at 5:30 p.m. with the reception recep-tion following the ceremony from 7 until 9 p.m. Many congratulations and best wishes to Joe and Jolene from all of us. Until next time keep well, keep warm and the best to you from Boulder cowboy country. |
