Show Escalante Care And Share Open ESCALANTE Escalante's Care and Share Food Bank, located adjacent to the Escalante Library in the old high school, is now open two days a week reports Darlene Edmiston who keeps it open Monday and Tuesday, 10 a.m. -11:30 a.m. and 2 until 4 p.m. Eligible recipients may come in monthly and may be called back when cheese is available. Residents in the Boulder and Bryce Valley areas are welcome to participate, since the program is for distribution countywide. Posted income guidelines indicate $7,500 annually for one person, $10,000 for two, adding $3,000 for each additional person and seasonal workers may qualify for commodities. Edmiston is also establishing a clothing exchange for children 12 and under. The Trading Post will also be located in the same building with the same hours. Parents are encouraged to bring in used childrens clothing, shoes, boots and toys. There is no charge for anything taken. Edmiston is available with details at 826-4328. She will deliver to shut-ins and open the facility for those unable to make it during regular hours. Shelving for the facility is much needed, she said. |
