Show Panguitch Lake News By Tracy Armstrong 676-2277 Editor's Note: We welcome Tracy Armstrong as the new weekly correspondent for the Panguitch Lake area and look forward to reading his column as he reports about what's going on at the lake. The list of year round residents at Panguitch Lake continues to grow and now includes Clair and Sherry Veater, Don and Anita Safian, Al and Judy Olthof, Charles and Janet Duffy, Tracy and Lynn Armstrong, Wynema Nelson, Bill and Marlene Richardson, Charlie and Gail Peart, Steve and Nandra Whittaker, Diane Buffington and Scott Tobiassen, and the newest year rounders, Ed and Patricia Mock. Now Nevada homeless, we hope Lamar and Sandra Stoker can join the group through winter. If anyone has been left out, don't hesitate hesi-tate to call! Major renovations are underway at the Beaver Dam Lodge. New owner, John Boshetto, bought the lodge from Kaylene Woods in September. In October, the old managers quarters were pushed to the edge of the newly enlarged parking park-ing lot and burned to the ground. Panguitch Lake and Panguitch City volunteer fire departments were on hand to control the burning of the building. The Panguitch Lake Fire Department, under the direction of Scott Tobiassen put out five forest fires this past summer. Jerry and Pat Bendorf recently purchased the Ruth Peterson A-frame A-frame cabin near Dr. Wallace and Joan Lee's cabin. Also, Bob and Doris Mack sold their cabin near the Church subdivision the Les Edwards and Scott Doubek families. Welcome to the lake! Comedian Flip Wilson was seen at the Rustic Lodge in October with a group of touring Harlcy riders. Diane tells that he even performed a little "Geraldine" for her before he left Two questions heard the most this year are "What is being built up Clear Creek Canyon road?" and "What is the large cement structure at the corner of West Shore road and Hwy 143?" Well, as far as Clear Creek. ..that is a new cabin, yes, cabin, being built by Reggie and Delia Atkinson from St. George. Quite a dreamhouse. The cement structure is an almost 100,000 gallon gal-lon water tank to supply water to the newest subdivision at the lake, Lakefront Estates. I'll finish this first week of the column with a small report on the deer hunt. Nandra Whittaker won the gun from the Deer Hunter's Ball. Way to go, Nandra! The Duffys and Wynema Nelson each bagged a deer and Janet Duffy also got her elk. Sounds like there will be meat in the freezer for quite a while. The most interesting story comes to us from Clair Veater. After spotting and shooting his 4 x 4 buck, he found an electronic collar col-lar around its neck. His story is featured in today's edition of The News. |
