Show Search On For Site For New Library Building Contributions from local citizens citi-zens are being sought to match $134,541 in grant funds anticipated from a Library Services and Construction Con-struction Act grant to construct a new library for Panguitch. Currently, Cur-rently, several sites are being considered con-sidered and construction is set to begin in May. On Feb. 5, Panguitch City council member Elaine Baldwin, bookmobile clerk Gwen Frandsen, Panguitch City librarian Donna Osborn and Library Board chairperson chairper-son Marilyn Brinkerthoff attended the LSCA Advisory Council meeting meet-ing in Salt Lake City. Baldwin made a presentation to the council requesting that the application from Panguitch City for a new city li brary oe considered. The LSCA Advisory Council recommended that the city's grant application be considered and approved. The new building will be a ground level structure to accommodate accommo-date the handicapped and the elderly. With the new building, the library will be able to provide improved service to the people of Garfield County. Donations can be made to the Friends of the Library and sent to Panguitch City, P.O. Box 77, Panguitch, Pan-guitch, Utah 84759. Christine Littlcfield, chairperson of the Friends of the Library, will meet with her committee next week to detail fund raising ideas. |
