Show Policy Ends Use Of Buses At Fun Run PANGUITCH LAKE-Due to a new policy by the State Department of Education, and because of new insurance structures, the people in charge of the August 1, 5K-10K fun and run at Panguitch Lake will not have the use of school buses to shuttle runners and others to various parts of the lake for the big day. Garfield County Travel Council Chairman Bob Benfield is asking the public spirited people in the area to act as bus drivers with private vans and assist in being people-movers. Bob said, "I don't like to ask such a great favor as this, but the entire county is on a roll and we need to keep the momentum going." He said the July 24th celebration was so great and that, in the same spirit, maybe enough good folks could call him and be bus-drivers-for-a-day. Benfield mentioned that the entries for boats are up to 19, with several more scurrying for crews so that even more will take advantage of this great fun event Bill Herder of the Panguitch Lake General Store can also be contacted about either volunteer busing or boat entries. Doug Ferguson, Panguitch Lake Fire Chief and pyro-technician, says that the fireworks display set for Saturday evening will be the biggest and the best yet |
