Show Reflections Contest Gives Opportunity For Creativity PANGUITCH The Panguitch Parents Teachers Association sponsored this year's PTA Reflecions Contest with a theme of "Imagine That." The Reflections program, an annual PTA-sponsored event, provides an opportunity for students to use their creative talents and expresss themselves through their own works. Entries are judged on creative ability as well as interpretation of the contest theme. A special program pro-gram was held to announce winners and to display their talents, with Brenda Sanders providing the welcome wel-come and an explanation of the Reflections Re-flections program. Students taking part in the program pro-gram were Heather Excell and Trevor Pollock with musical presentations, pre-sentations, and Danny Yardley with a literature presentation. From the high school, Amanda Talbot gave a literature presentation and Sally Cooper performed a musical selection. selec-tion. Judges for this year's competition competi-tion were Lucille Proctor, Annette Heywood, Elaine Baldwin, Justin Fischer, Stan Foy, Merle Stowell and Shirleen Blais (literature); Lucille Lu-cille Bridges, Wally Lee and Sandra Peterson (visual arts and photography); photog-raphy); and Sandra Peterson (music). Winners in the Panguitch Middle Mid-dle School in grades 6-8, in the Visual Vi-sual Arts Division include: 1st, Casey McCullough; 2nd Beau Davis; 3rd Quentin Gilbert; 4th Cynthia Prince and 5th Jackson Prince. Receiving Honorable Mention were Rebecca Brinkerhoff, Garret Sawyer, Katrina Bourland, Josh Pollock and Lori Bridges. Winners in the Music Division were: 1st, Trevor Pollock and 2nd, Heather Excell. Literature winners included in 1st, Danny Yardley; 2nd, Stoney Woolsey; 3rd, Laura Pierson; 4th, Heather Bell and in 5th, Tyler Owens. Receiving Honorable Mentions were Heather Excell, Rebecca Brinkerhoff, Joselyn Christy, Chris Smith and Angie Riggs. Panguitch High School winners in grades 9-12 in the Photography Division were in 1st, Annessa Hulet; 2nd, Kip Davis; 3rd, Renn Veater; 4th, Kris Swanger and 5th Kim Oldham. Winners in Visual Arts were 1st, Randy Klein; 2nd, Luke Yardley; 3rd, Alicia Orton; 4th, Sunnie Smith and tied for 5th, Jenny Prince and Brandon Nelson. Receiving Honorable Mentions were Chad Brinkerhoff, Billy Nex, Joey Buckles, Travis Sanders, Markay Englestead and Donna Cowles. In the Literature Division winners win-ners included in 1st, Amanda Talbot; Tal-bot; 2nd Suzanne Bulkley; 3rd Jared Black; 4th, James Robinson and 5th, Stoney Burningham. Honorable Mentions went to Bradley Cole, Tyler Barney, Sommer Allen, Jana Black and James Henrie. In the Music Division, a first place award went to Sally Cooper. PTA President Sherrie Bumingham expressed thanks and gratitude to Brenda Sanders, Leniece Fischer, Susan Sawyer and countless other parents who assisted in making this year's program a tremendous success. |
