Show Commission Deals With Varied Items Minutes from a meeting held in late March show a number of items dealt with by the Garfield County Commission. Sheriff Vic Middleton was advised by the commissloin to use the least expensive way to hook-up water lines to the new Jail addition and still comply with the building code. The city of Panguitch will participate in the project. Maude Fairbanks of the Utah State Alcohol and Drug Council, along with Tom Jackson, representing Garfield, Iron and Beaver counties on A&D Services, explained the upcoming 34th Annual Session of the University of Utah School on Alcoholism and Drug Dependencies, the commission voted to pay tuition for two people to attend the school. The state willl match these tuitions with two scholarships. Commissioners agreed to hire someone to replace Lesli Partridge on a part-time basis. Vaughn McDonald, Five County Association of Governments, talked to commissioners about Utah state's implementation plan and air conservation regulations concerning visibility protection. He requested letters to be sent to the state stating Garfield county's stand on proposed regulations. He also suggested that a commissioner attend the Reichfield and Cedar city meetings to represent the county. Hal Clyde of W. W. Clyde Company, Ron Greenhalgh county road supervisor and the commissioners discussed the payment problem on the gravel at Gary Haw's property in Boulder. No solution was reached. |
