Show First Eagle in 20 Years To Get Badge in Tropic TROPIC When he receives his Eagle badge next Sunday Chris Baugh, 15, will become the first Eagle scout in Tropic in almost 20 years according to his scoutmaster, David Pollock. Baugh will receive his badge in a special court of honor set for March 17 at 4 p.m. at the Tropic IDS Ward. He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Herb Baugh. Baugh completed his 21 required merit badges to earn the highest award for a scout. On the way to Eagle; Baugh's compulsory and selected badges required the talents of 15 different merit badge counselors, all of "whom Baugh credits with helping him achieve his goal. 1 He credits his mother and father, for being supportive of his efforts 1 and encouraging him along the way. : He also feels that his attainment of I the coveted badge was due to the 1 encouragement and leadership of 5 his scoutmaster. i He is a member of Boy Scout Troop 679 and a member of the i Varsity Troop.
