Show Boulder Native Named As SUSC Art Curator LeRae Williams has been named art curator at Southern Utah State College. Her responsibilities include supervision of the day-today operation of the Braithwaite Fine Arts Gallery. Ms. Williams graduated, sumrna cum laude, from SUSC on June 2, earning a BS with an art composite major and business administration minor. Earlier this spring she was named the college's Outstanding Art Student. "My two primary responsibilities are to serve as curator of SUSC's permanent art collection and to plan and carry out activities associated with the Braithwaite Fine Arts Gallery," she said. "I'm excited about working with visiting artists and will enjoy the close association with the SUSC art department, an important factor in furthering my own work." The new gallery curator specializes in portrait sculpture. Her works are included in several private collections and have been shown in student shows 'at SUSC as well as in numerous eastern Nevada and southern Utah exhibitions. She has also participated in the Artists in"Action program at Snowbird and was honored at the Three-Dimensional Artist of the year while 1 Lallae Williams attending Dixie College. Originally from Boulder, Ms. Williams has worked as a real estate broker, a legal secretary and as a show cost clerk at NBC studios in Burbank, Calif. Married to David W. Williams, she has two daughters, Colette Cox, an SUSC alumna living in Cedar City; Cheryl Cox, West Jordan and one granddaughter, Geneya. |
