Show Tropic Topics ELLA ADAIR Clyde and Ina Partry spent a few days visiting with the Duane Stewart family. Funeral services were held in Salt Lake City for Dora Hall Wilson Doyle, Sept. 7th. She was a former resident of Tropic, the daughter of Harry and Mary Hall. Mr. and Mrs. George Wilson attended the funeral services in Salt Lake for Dora Doyle, also for Robert M. Anderson in Orem, daughter Maida's father-in-law. Ella Adair and Orvilla Shakespear attended the meeting for the Garfield County Committee of Aging in Escalante Monday. We would like to welcome the Hurt family as new residents in Tropic. They purchased the Thelma Jolley home. Mr. and Mrs. Berdell Barton, Mr. and Mrs. Brant Barton, Mr. and Mrs. John Niemann, Jr. attended the wedding for Mr. and Mrs. Scott Barton in the Jordan River LDS Temple Sept. 17th. They also attended the reception that evening. A reception for the newly weds will be held in the Tropic Cultural hall on Sept. 24th at 7:30 p.m. Bryce and Panguitch Lions and partners enjoyed a delicious dinner meeting at Ruby's Inn Sept. 17, followed by a talk by district governor Mike Sullivan of Vernal. Several of the Tropic people attended the Dixie Round Up in St. George. The Kent Wintchs, and Catherine Littlefield were in Richfield on business. Rose Olson visited her sisters for three days, and Joann Ottesen visited her parents the Charley Wintchs the same time. Sherrena Swapp is visiting with Viva Mecham prior to attending college in Cedar City. A special seminar on "Power and Light Savers" was presented by a representative of the Utah Power and light Company on Sept. 21st. Next Sunday will be Fast Sunday, due to General LDS conference the following week. Phyllis and Kent Webster visited the Charley Francisco family. Sandrea Francisco spent 3 days with her sister Helena in Beaver. The Royal Alveys received word that their son Kim is a patient in the West Valley Medical Center. Speakers in Sacrament-meeting were Vernon Spencer and Chad Rappley representing the high council. Sheila Syrett was graduated from Primary. Ferrell Lamb and Colleen Sorenson spent Sunday at the Clare Ramsay home visiting with their mother, Mrs. Esplin. Mrs. Esplin was taken to the Panguitch Hospital by ambulance Monday morning. A Boy Scout dinner will be held Saturday evening in the Ward Cultural Hall. All friends of the Boy Scouts are invited to attend. Donations are to help the Scout Troop. |
