Show Niebel Named Vice President of Club William "Bill" Niebel has returned from Denver where he was elected vice president of the rockey Mountain Federation of Mineralogical Societies at its annual convention held September 17 through 19. Niebel, known locally for his dedication to promoting interest in the study and collection of gems and minerals, was elected to the post for 1982-83 and is expected to move up to president of the organization the following year. Niebel served as Utah State director of the organization for the past three years and has been instrumental in funding gem and mineral societies throughout Utah. Attending the Denver convention with Niebel was Mark Heaton, member of the junior division of the Color Country Gem and Mineral Society which Niebel helped to organize, in Panguitch. He said that the 1986 convention of the Rocky Mountain Federation is William "Kill" Niebel set for St, George. Niebel and Mary Anderson, Coopertown, were voting delegates representing Color Country Gem and Mineral Society at this a year's convention and also carried proxy votes i for many Utah members of the organization.
