Show Plans Underway for County Fair ' Plans are underway for this year's Garfield County Fair set for Panguitch on August 14. Fair Board Chairman Marie Liston said posters and flyers have been ordered and the board will meet again July 13 at Bryce Valley High School in Tropic at 7 p.m. She said this year's expanded fair will feature midway activities with more fun and a variety of games. The livestock show portion of the fair will be held Augsut 7 at the fairgrounds with a junior and adult judging contest. and judging of beef and lambs followed by judging of breeding classes of livestock. Show events are scheduled for the early afternoon with all judging to take place in the morning The Miss Garfield County Scholarship Pageant is set for the same evening in Escalante with the naming of the Garfield County Queen and her two attendants. On Friday night before the fair, a talent show will be held at Bryce Valley High School in Panguitch followed by a disco dance. Saturday's fair day will begin at 9:30 a.m. with the flag raising and ribbon cutting and will feature a children's fair, pet show, midway, circus clown, carnival activities, and all kinds of tasty foods. Exhibits this year are expected to be better than ever and as the date draws nearer, more details will be available for the exhibitor. The commercial exhibit area will be open once again this year and is expected to draw some very interesting exhibits. A style show, magician, Blue Grass band, square dance jamboree and disco dance will also be a part of the day-long event. |
