Show Projects Move Forimrd Under Grant Awards Project manager Kent Wintch outlined to the Garfield County Commission Tuesday progress being made throughout the county under a wcatherization grant awarded several months ago. ' ! Wintch stated that bids had been submitted to the Economic Development Administration for approval on several portions of the overall project which will utlimately affect almost every community in the county. Garfield County was awarded a $150,000 grant, with another $37,000 to be added by the county with several cities and towns participating Included in the bids sent to the EDA for approval were $50,000 for a new heating system for the county courthouse in Panguitch. The system will also heat the law enforcement building. Windows for the same two buildings will cost over $10,000. Invitations to bid have been advertised but contracts not yet awarded for windows for the library, social hall, and fire station maintenance building in Pangutich. Plans are also to reshingle the social hall roof. This week invitations to bid the flat roof sections of the Cannonville Town Hall were advertised, with Escalante's old North Ward, newly planned for a community center; Henrieville's old schoolhouse which has been converted to a town hall; and Tropic's historical eld Scout House also scheduled for weatheriza'ion improvements. Progiess continues on the overall project according to Wintch, with additional work to be planned as tho funds hold out. |
