Show Tropic Topics This has been a busy week for birthdays in Tropic. Among those celebrating were Lillus Francisco, Ruth Baugh, Luana Riddle, Cheri Feltner, Gloria Chynjweth, Viola Marshall and Angelyn Ahlstrom. Mary Ann Bybee and Jean Sandburg visited the Clive Bybees in Tropic. Kim Ott and Ivan Clarke were home from school in Provo. Sandy Keene enjoyed a visit from her son and girl friend. The small son of Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Willis received his name and blessing in sacrament meeting Sunday. Doing the honors was his father, assisted by grandfathers Lester Clarke and Kay Willis and uncle Lorin Willis. He was given the name Brady Sears Willis. The Carl Syrette have ' had their daughter Dawnetta's husband visiting with them. Beehive standard night was held in Cannonville Ward Tuesday evening for all Beehive girls in the three wards. The high priests and partners will have a snowmobile party at Rubys Inn on Feb. 16. The Clive Bybee family was in Washington for the naming of their new grandson, Casey Chris . White. All family members but Kevin were there for the event. A get-together was held at daughter Sharron's home after the meeting. A stork shower for Marie Pollock was held in the Relief Society room. Gordon and Sharron Pollock and sons spent the weekend in Tropic with the Virgil Pollocks and Dean Wintchs. Luanna Riddle enjoyed a visit from her sister and husband. Verdella and Minnie Nielsen, Ron McGee and friend, were home over the weekend. They returned to Ogden where they are staying with their brother until Minnie has surgery. Several of the Tropic ward members attended the St. George LDS Temple. While visiting, her daughter Vera and family in Richfield last Saturday, Margaret M. Mecham was severely burned when a cooker of hot grease was spilled over her head and face. She is recovering at her home in Tropic. Roy Marshall visited his mother Viola and took her back to Kanab with him for a few weeks visit. Tropic residents have an opportunity to see "Slipper and the Rose" Saturday evening at 7 p.m. There will be a dance "Return of the Golden Oldies" following the movie. Better Bryce Valley members will serve refreshments before and after the movie at reasonable prices. All proceeds will go to help build the town park. |
