Show Tropic Topics Ella Adair 67)-XR4R Mr. and Mrs. Roy Shakespear were in St. George February 3rd they learned that Keven had been put in as president of the Sunday School in the college branch of the LDS church. Hanna Goulding and Laura Cottam were in Tropic visiting with the Charley Wintchs and Luella Mangum. It was Charley's birthday and Hannah came to wish him a happy day. Mr. and Mrs. Ira Lit tlefield received word that their grandson had received an LDS mission call to Mexico. He is the son of Helen and Jim Beatty of Hurricane and the Littlefield's oldest grandson Max Hodson. son-in-law of the Ray Littlefields, stopped overnight with them, en route to his new job in Cedar City. His family will move to Cedar City from New Mexico the latter part of May Amplus LeFevre is home again. after spending the past month in Salt Lake City wit her son Kenneth and family Calvin Nielsen brought his sisters Verdella and Minnie home from Ogden. Verdella is recovering from surgery and able to get up and around again. Malen Mecham took his wife Angelyn and brother John and wife Nell to Provo for medical checkups this past week Mr and Mrs. Malen Littlefield were in St. George for a few days, then went on to Henderson, Nev. to visit his brother Ellis and family They came home by the way of Yuma, Arizona. Lake Havasu and other points of interest. The Clem Johnsons spent the past week in St. George, then on to Provo to celebrate Clara and daughter Dawn's birth days with their other daughter Tim Garrett was the speaker in sacrament meeting, representing the youth of the ward. The rest of the program was under the direction of the Boy Scouts, with Craig Bybee in charge. Henry and LaVerne Jolley were in Salt Lake City the forepart of the week Henry attended meetings arid LaVerne was with her father who had been in the hospital Ricky and Renone Bybee have moved back to Tropic. He will take over his father's garage business while Clive is recovering from back surgery. They are living in the Orlan Ruesch home for the present. Truie Allen is the new LDS garment representative for the Tropic ward A special fireside was held Sunday night for the young people in the ward Chris Twitchell was released as the Sunbeam teacher in Primary and Melanie Ott was sustained in her place. Linda Southau, a new (onvert to the church, was baptized and welcomed into the ward. In stake conference Evan Chynoweth was sustained as the new stake executive secretary. Henry Jolley as a high councilman and Aaron Bybee was or dained an Elder. Ward and Jean Mangum visited with Luella Mangum and brothers Paul and Kay over the weekend Saudrea Francisco and Juamta Pollock were home from college Several of our small children have been ill with symptoms of the flu Nakole Richards was home over the weekend. Alaska. Paula and Gregg Richards were here getting some of their home furnishings to take back to Ely. |
