Show Letter To The Editor Offers Tlinnks Editor, News: We would like to express our appreciation to two of your local residents, and thought perhaps you would convey our heart-felt thanks to these two fine gentlemen. Last Sunday night (at an unearthly hour), we were traveling home to Salt Lake from the Phoenix area. After having no luck obtaining fuel in either Kanab or Mt. Carmel Junction, we arrived in Panguitch with the fuel tank below the empty mark. At the time we arrived, we were heartsick to find there were no service stations open in your town either. However, as luck would have it, we ran on to your local 'police officer patrolling the area. After telling him of our sad tale of woe, he went to one of the local service station managers, got him out of a warm bed to come to our aid. The weather at this point was at the near zero level. We were unable to get he officers' name, but the service station owner was Bill Dodd at your local Texaco station. Would you please convey our appreciation to these fine gentlemen, and let them know that we truly did appreciate all their help. Nowadays there aren't many people around so willing to help two stranded motorists traveling at this time of year in the middle of the night. Thanks again to everyone. Sincerely, s A1& Linda Bolte Taylorsville, Utah |
