Show Tropic Topics Ella Adair 674-2311 Thirty four of the Tropic senior citizens attended the county party at Calf Creek Saturday. Roy and Scott Chlarson and Craig Bybee are in New Mexico attending a boy scout leadership camp. Amplus LeFevre received medical care in St. George this past week and is now at the home of her daughter in Cedar City. A stork shower for Lydia Cutler was held at her home this past week. Her mother and sisters were the hostesses. Mr. and Mrs. Vernal (Bud) Mecham are the parents of a baby boy born July 10th in Panguitch. The grandparents in Tropic are Mr. and Mrs. David Mecham. Larry Holman has his parents visiting with him for a week. The Delmar Nelsons are back to Tropic for the remainder of the summer. Ruth Baugh made a business trip with her father, Blake Robinson, to Provo. Crista Pollock, small daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Pollock received her name and a blessing, given by her father, in sacrament meeting Sunday. Speakers in the meeting were Lester Clarke and Leland Haws. A piano solo was given by Tim Feltner. Bishop Shakespear also gave some instructions to the ward membership. Rick Evans visited at the Lester Clarke home over the weekend. Scott Mecham was presented the Duty to God Trail Award in sacrament meeting Sunday. The Mark Bybee family were recent visitors at the home of Ella Bybee. Carol Stewart has company from California this week at her home. Visiting with the Larvin Pollock family were the David Pollock family, Teri and Tim Hunter, Duane and Jeannie Campbell and daughter, Velma and John Wozab, Mary Jones and daughter Rgan, Carl Hamblln, and Connie Gull. Pauline Pollock returned home after visiting with relatives in Salt Lake City this past two weeks. The Norman Llttlefields spent the past weekend with their chidlren in Las Vegas, Nev. Mr. and Mrs. Kent Cottam, of Cedar Gty are the parents of a new baby boy. Luella Mangum, of Tropic is the proud grandmother. Mr. and Mrs. Royal Alvey took Luella to Cedar City to see her new grandson. Mr. and Mrs. David Marshall and children visited with Viola Marshall over the weekend. Roy is also visiting with his mother. Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Jolley visited with the Earl Jolleys. Seventeen of the youth of the ward attended baptismal services in the St. George LDS Temple. Angelyn Mecham is home from Oak City for a while. She is feeling much better. Christine Chynoweth and Sharron Lee Munson were baptized into the LDS Church in Tropic. Elizabeth Cairo visited with friends in Tropic and area this past weekend. She also attended the wedding reception for Alfred and Tonl Foster. An early morning fire completely consumed the barn and corrals at the Royal Alvey place. Thanks to the local people, and Are truck, also Bryce fire truck, the fire was prevented from spreading to the nearby homes and buildings. Visiting with Verdella and Minnie Nielsen this week were Edna Clark from Panguitch, Una and Roy Murdock and Donna and Jolene Simmons from Heber City. |
