Show Mayor Gets Plaque From Hospital During Meeting M. Mayor Wallace G. Lee was presented a plaque by Doug Fonnesbeck at the last Panguitch City council meeting for his service to the hospital on the hospital board. Keith Fackrell, acting police of chief stated that the brakes on the new police car needs to be fixed and this was okeyed by the council. Mr. Fackrell also mentioned the need for a new radar gun. The normal retail price of the gun is $2,085 however Mr. Fackrell can get it through a quantity purchase agreement for $1,250. The gun will be purchased. The councilmen wcie concerned about the number of vehicles being parked along the business section of Main Street longer than the two hours allowed. They decided to have city policeman Dene Kay patrol the two lour parking zone, urging him to issue tickets if this is violated. It was reported that the new well has been drilled by William Peck. A crew should be in town this week to test the well and determine what size pump is necessary. The city is getting a temporary permit from the state enabling then to go ahead and pump water from the new well. Approximately 600 gallons of water now comes Into the present head house per minute, the well will supply an additional 400 gallons, when the toad house becomes low In order for the city to obtain a permit to use the new well and i pump the city must nave 12 shares of West Panguitch Irrigation water to make a trade with exchange with the Division of Water Rights. City Manager, Bruce Fullmer states that the water rotation seems to be working fairly well. However, last Tuesday the tank ran very low so-he would like to stress the cooperation of all the residents in complying with this rotation. He also expressed appreciation to all the residents following the water schedule. Jim Taylor is going to build north of town, he wanted to know what size line to run into his house. The council agreed to let Mr. Taylor hook on to the six inch line with a four inch line at his own expense under the city's supervision, He Is also to pay the city for meter hook up. Homer McUwen has been permitted to open the street on Fourth North between First and Second West considering he make necessary Improvements to meet city standards at his own expense. Mel Sullivan asked to have the city help him fill in the dirt for the gully by his house which is in the county. The councilmen decided it was not their place to do this, so rejected his requeot, The city bought a weir to measure the amount of water available at Three Mile Creek. The council decided Uiat Art Crosby is to show the city manager where it is to be installed and the city forces would get it installed |
