Show Piute County Readies Queen Contest May 14 JUNCTION-The annual Piute County queen contest will be held May 14 at Piute High School at 8 p.m., according to Marva Allen, Kingston, contest chairman. Applications from contestants are now being sought by the committee and will be received until May 1. Applicants must be at least 17 and not over 27 years of age by Sept. 1, 1977, single and never have been married. Ross Bumgardner, Richfield, will be master of ceremonies. The contest will begin at 8 p.m. and include selection of Miss Piute County, Miss Piute County Fair and an attendant. Miss Piute County Fair will be an attendant to Miss Piute County along with a second attendant. Miss Piute County will compete in the Miss Utah Scholarship Pageant in June, and Miss Piute County Fair will be featured during the Miss Utah Fair contest in September. A book, which will be donated by Lucy DeLuke, Marysvale, entitled, "Guide to Beauty, Charm and Poise" will be given at a special meeting of contestants on May 1. Working as committee members with Mrs. Allen are Mrs. Bobbie Barnson and Mrs. Vickie Brindley as co-chairmen. |
