Show Planning Meet Held In Cannonville CANNONVILLE As program coordinator for the Utah Community Progress Program, Jeri Winger of USU Extension Service has provided valuable technical assistance In the organization of communities. Recently she assisted citizens of Cannonville in organizing a town meeting to discuss ways to better their community. Thirty persons of a total population of 125 attended' the meeting to assist in the planning. Several projects were discussed for community improvement including recreation for teenagers, new sidewalks, clean up of growth along streets, new roads, elimination of homes vacated by owners and not suitable for housing, inadequate housing, and the Improvement of irrigation ditches. Town president, Laurie Dea Holley and newly-elected chairman of the community progress plan for Cannonville, Michael J. Clarke, indicated priority will be given to sidewalks and improvement of irrigation ditches. They also went to accomplish some improvement on each item discussed at the meeting. However, Inadequate housing is looked on as a future project unless help is obtained from outside sources. |
