Work Is progressing on the remodeling of the church house but at present it is so air-conditioned it is almost uncomfortable. Gail Bailey is back in circulation again after being laid up. He stepped out of the back of his pickup aiming at a box but stepped on the edge and fell. It did not break what he lit on but was bruised and stretched some ligaments. The sick folks are holding their own. The Arnold Alveys took daughter Raylcne to Panguitch Tor eye surgery but found her condition was improving so put off the cutting, hoping it would get well. The Emer Hamblins went to Kaysville for the funeral of a , nephew, Pat Brakey who died at the age of 33 of a heart at tack. He is the son of Vira Hamblin who used to live here. The Hamblings went to Kingman, Ariz, for a family reunion and got rained out. They came home in time to entertain Erner's brother,,? Dudley and family from Ogden. The Hamblins son, Ralph is on an LDS mission to Columbia and was supposed to come home but they extended his time until his visa is up so he will not be here until after Christmas. Mary and LaVern Griffin are home after an almost 3 week tour of Utah, Wyoming, Montana and Idaho. They visited Judy Ludgate and family in Wyoming, toure'd Montana, viewed the flood damage in Idaho and back ta Salt Lake City to visit Clem and family. They got home to visit Eldon and Amber and family or Kanab who came for the weekend. Iris Porter had her sister, Leda Emery here for ten days, canning like mad, then Led as kids, Roy and Louise Peck and his mother, Rose came and took her back to Salt Lake City. Terrill Haws is home from Prescott, Ariz, to attend school here. Those we heard of havlngT business in Cedar City went Arnold, Denise, Johnny and Betty Alvey, Dyna Christensert, Charley and Ann White, Lean and brenda Griffin, Starns and Fon Mecham, Lynn and Rhonda Button. I Jed and Gameal Smith took daughter Vida to St. Georgtj to attend college, Sharee Coleman went to start her new job atjthe hospital there. Lorell and Nelda Munson, Vernon and Aula Spencer were also in) St. George. f Jim' Yardley and son frohn were here from Pangfiitch doing a bit of campaigning for Jim. Weldo andyllirilyn' Woolsey have a baby girl. , Loyd and Betty Alvey took son Sam to Richfield to attend Trade Tech. The Grant Spencers had son Donald and family here from St. George. Zella and Tom Alvey went to Salt Lake City for the weddjng of DelRays daughter, Earl and Nethella WoolseyJ went north for the wedding of a family member, Rick and Randy Haws went tflE Phoenix where they haven employment. Denise Alvey and Valeree Anderson were here for the . weekend. j Bryant Porter of Pasadena, Calif, was here staying with his coflsin, Bernard Schow and visiting other relatives and friends. Hazel Sanborn was called to Redlands, Calif, by the death of her brother, James Cotner. While there she also attended the funeral of a cousin. The Sanborns daughter, Leslie and her husband, Frank Venutl and children brought Hazel home, along with her sister, Effie Grove of Ada, Okla. The Sanborns will take Effie to Grand Canyon, then on to Flagstaff where she will board a bus for home. The Marvin Mounteers went north where he had an appointment with' the Doctor for toils. Sacrament meeting was a testimonial tor Gary Griffin ho is going on an LDS mission m Australia. Gene talked iliefly and announced the other speakers who were Thais Griffin, Ruby Roe, Brent, Mark hand Gary Griffin, gary Wayne Graf and Bp. Marsh. Melanie and Stephanie sang accompanied by Dian Gates, Usher Spencer and Delane Griffin sang accompanied by Betty Alvey. There was a family dinner at the Griffin home after meeting. Relatives from out of town were Earl and Evelyn Roe, Sylva Graf, Kathy and Bruce Pickett, Ken and Norma Schow. Other Sunday visitors were Lenard and Vera Wilcock, Jay Proctor,' Afton Church and Merle Stowell or Panguitch. Barbara and Doug Haycock and family of Las vegas visited the Stan Haycocks. Claron Barney brought home as his bride Ann Lacey of Rich field, she came complete with furniture. Spending money is fine to have, we're always needing more, some keeping money would be real nice and make us feel secure. |
