Show Truck Hits Cow, Rolls; Driver Injured Sunday HATCH-A large semi truck-trailer unit struck a cow on U. S. Highway 89 three miles north of Hatch e-irly Sunday, then Jackkiiifed and rolled down the side of a 30-foot embankment. Driver of the truck, Terry Larsen, 22, Sterling, suffered only minor Injuries. He was taken to Garfield Memorial Hospital In Panguitch for treatment and released. The accident occurred at 3 : 10 f a.m. when the cow walked on the road. Lamen applied his brakes, causing the rig to Jacxknife. As the trailer swung around, the rear wheel struck and killtd the cow. Then the unit continued out of control and rolled over as It went down the embankment. Estimate of damages to the truck and trailer, both owned by Art Robinson, Salina, was $10,000. Brad Price and Hobble Jo Price performed at the Garfield County Farm Bu eau-sponsored talent rind which was held Saturday. Emcee of the affair was Tim ChrttUasen. The Price children along with Jim Cooper, Panguitch, competed In stale finals. v |
