Show Receives Commendation Medal Lt. Col. Nathaniel E. Deuel, son of Mrs. Mildred Deuel of Panguitch, wa? awarded the Commendation. Medal with the following: "For meritorious achievement in the performance of his duties during the period 1 October 1971 to 2 January 1972 while serving as Chief, Data Processing Division, Data Ma-nagjment Agency, Headquarters United States Military Assistance Command, Vietnam. During this period Colonel Deuel, through exceptional in-depth technical and management expertise, was able to increase the Central Processing Unit utilization of the Agency's IBM 36050 from 58 to 65 percent which translates into a direct cost savings to the Data Management Agency of $12,000 per year and an increase of 75 hours of available compuuter time per month. In addition, he implemented new procedures which reduced returns from an average of 178 per month as of 1 October 1971 to only 129 for December 1971. As a result of his outstanding Initiative and superior performance of duties, the Data Management Agency's computers are performing at a level of efficiency never before attained; providing timely response, completeness and accuracy in meeting all agency requirements for Automatic Data Processing support. Lt. Colonel Deuel's distinguished performance of duty represents outstanding achievement and reflects great credit upon himself and the military service." |
