Show NOTICE TO WATER USERS Coal Search Corporation, Suite 640, Kennecott Bldg., Salt Lake City, Utah 84111 has filed with the State Engineer Application No. 40927 (89-171) to appropriate 27.6 sec. ft and or 20,000 ac. ft. of water in Garfield County, State of Utah. The water Is to be diverted from nine 18-inch wells all 3000 ft. deep at the following points: (1) N. 1500 ft. & E. 1500 ft from SW Cor. Sec. 8. (2) S. 1800 ft & E. 1000 ft. from NW Cor. Sec. 17. (3) N. 1000 ft & W. 2400 ft. from SE Cor. Sec. 17. (4) S. 2600 ft. & W. 2000 ft. from NE Cor. Sec. 20. (5) S. 1500 ft. & W. 1200 ft. from NE Cor. Sec. 29. (6) N. 1900 ft. & W. 1500 ft. from SE Cor. Sec. 28. (7) N. 800 ft & E. 500 ft. from SW Cor. Sec. 22. (8) N. 500 ft. & W. 2100 ft. from SE Cor. Sec. 27. (9) N. 2000 ft. & E. 2400 ft. from SW Cor. Sec. 23; all in T36S, R2W, SLB&M. The water is to be stored from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31 in an earthfilled dam 240 ft. high creating a reservoir having a 40,000 ac. ft. capacity Inundating 1120 acres in SM Sec. 15; EMEM Sec. 21; Sec. 22; WH WW Sec. 23; NW Sec. 26; NH, NHSH Sec. 27; all In T 36S, R2W, SLB&M; and used from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31 for the domestic purposes of 20 families, power purposes in a 1000 Mw steam electric generating plant, and also used for the mining of coal in the Tropic Mining District, in Sees. 28 and 29 of T36S, R2W, SLB&M. Protests resisting the granting of this application with reasons therefor must be filed in duplicate with the State Engineer, 442 State Capitol, Salt Mke City, Utah 84114 on or before December 18. 1971.
