Lovell and Martha Twitch-ell went to Provo so he could have a checkup, he looks good. Beth and Rotls Coleman took them up then came here to spend the weekend. All we can hear about Maggie Lay is that she is holding her own. Florence and Wayn j Greenough have a new baby daughter. Dr. Harold Griffin and son were here from St. George. Nancy Everett and Julie Droubay went to Pangultch for dental appointments. Mar-lyn Owens of Phoenix, Arizona spent several days here with her grandparents, Whltey and Maralda Porter. Orville and Lucllb Cowles had Donald and wife home. John and Erma Hamilton took Ada Porter back to Magna to spend the winter. Earl Wo-olsey got word of the death of his brother Parley who passed away in Salt Lake City. Earl and Nethella had business In Pangultch. Louise Llston and daughter Doneen went to Cedar City to take some of Jan's belongings, it was the day of the big storm and they were a-bout to turn back but met Dale and Susan Wilson so figured they could make it. Judy Kelly also had business in Cedar City. Besides Nick mentioned last week the Christensens had Lionel and Geneva, Sam and wife, their son Mark and wife, Larry and wife, Louis and son and son-in-law, Roland and wife and son, Mary and Sam Blauser, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Dan-kief of Pleasant Grove, they are Jo's in-laws, Hank and He- len Bremer, their son and wife, and most of them brought friends who had names but we could not get them Ardis said one night they made a count trying to be accurate and there were 57 and. some may have moved around too much to be counted. Harvey Llston got his deer and moved his camphouse back to Monroe where he is working, Evadean went along to bring the pickup home. Twila Mcln-elly went to Salt Lake to help Myrna Barker with the family and Nell came home. Billle and Minnie Davis went to Pangultch to get Nell who came on the bus. Ruth and Lorenzo Griffin had son Lewis and family here from Provo. Calvin and Martha Rae Schow brought Nellie Bailey home but Just long enough to fix her house for winter, she has a job in the Salt Lake area taking care of an old lady. The S. J. Alveys company all went back from whence they came, and Mother went down for the count, she is about to get her feet under her again. Verl and Roy Hardwlck from Mldvale were here, Roy spent most of his time hunting Boulder way, Verl, Renon Peterson, Neta Poulson, Golda Haws and daughter Beverly visited relatives here. Rol and Mina Porter went to Richfield. Dot and Anthony Coombs of Boulder brought their kids in the early a. m. and left them to help Grandma do news while they went to Richfield. The Colemans and Buttons had company; the Johnsons, Earl, Dean and two Elalnes, Parley and LaFay Coleman. Leah Button and son Lynn, and Parley Coleman visited relatives in Kanab and Enterprise, they got in on the big storms. The Bob Mitchells had his parents, the W. C. Mltchels, Bob'i brothers Clark and Dave and their wives here from Provo, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Maulden of Church Wells. Clarice and Er nle Griffin had son Clem, his daughters Crystal Kelly and Mltrio. Mltzle's husband Tom and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Borovatz of Murray, their daughter and husband. Joyce Oneal reported her trip to Logan. Certificates were presented to Helen and Irene Alvey in the style dress review. To Doneen lis-ton in the speech department. To Melanie Roundy for leadership and Elaine Roundy got the alumni award. Mayor Bil- lie Davis showed an award from the State the town received for cleanup and improvement NetheUa Woolsey was given honorable mention, Wan-les and Dena Alvey were complimented on the award and plaque they had earned earlier. The girls who took" the Teen Leader class taught by Kather-Ine Barney were presented with awards. The PTA under the direction of Judy Brooks put on the annual Halloween carnival at the Elementary school. They had games, a fish pond, cake walk, refreshments and Instead of a spook alley, a jail where the kids could have teachers or anyone else locked up. Joyce Oneal was the sheriff. Prizes were given for costumes; the funniest, the prettiest, the ug liest and the cleverest. If you happened to see an airplane traveling right up the street it was not a hailoween trick. Just Dale Wilson taking his plane home to work on it Don and Deanna Heap spent the two hunting weekends in Hatch and came home with half enough meat. Gary Pollock came and hunted several days then took Ethyl North for the winter. The High School put on a Deer Hunters Ball. Emmorn Peterson won the gun and Kevin Porter the sleeping bag. Stake meetings of the Primary, Relief Society and Priesthood were held here Sunday. Besides the Lynn Mclnellys the Hyrum Colemans had Valeree and Tobe Davles and family from Salt Lake. Ronnie Wooley was here for the hunt and got a five point buck.. The Ron Schows had Suzie and Danny Thurston and kids here from Richfield. Johnny Christensen came and brought Ken Jewkes along. Everyone all tired out caused from flitting about hunting the buck by horseback or truck some got toothing but gout. |
