Show Bobcats Beat Valley, Mustangs Lose The Pangultch Bobcat Basketball team bettered Its won-lost record at the expense of the Valley Buffaloes from Or-derville on the 'Cats home floor In Pangultch last Friday night. The issue was never In doubt with Pangultch getting off to an early lead, holding a 19 to 8 first quarter bulge and going on to win it 73 to 40 with ten men getting ino play. High man for the evening for the Bobcats was center Ar-lin Sawyer with 19 points being followed by Hatch and Allen with 16 each. Sorensen of Valley equalled Sawyer's 19 19 points, but Hoyt with 12 was the only Buffalo in double figures. The final quarter saw a con- stant. parade to the foul line. In the game the Buffaloes hit on 10 of 17 foul shots while the Bobcats made good on 19 of 30. At Junction that same evening the Piute Thunderbirds won over the Bryce Valley Mustangs by 89 to 66 score. The Piute T-Birds took a 28 to 8 lead at the end of the first quarter and rolled right along from there never being seriously threatened.. The T-Birds showed their usual well-rounded offensive with four men hitting for double, figures: Pollock, 19; Blackwell, 17; and MorrilTand Price for 14 apiece. Top scoring honors for Bryce Valley went to Goulding with 19, followed by Shakespear's 17, and Jim Smith's 12. |
