Show Christmas Tree Permits On Sale Christmas tree cutting on an Individual permit basis will be permitted within the Kanab Creek drainage on the Powell Ranger District, Dixie National Forest. Permits are on sale week days between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the Forest Service office in Pang-aitch. Permits are $1 00 each. Those wishing to cut trees In the Kanab Creek drainage will be asked to restrict their cutting to weekends only, between Nov. 16 and Dec. 23rd. The Kanab Creek drainage is being logged and heavy logging truck traffic occurs during week days. Truck traffic may also be encountered on Saturdays. Christmas tree cutters and other Forest users are cautioned to beware of logging trucks. Weather permitting. Individual Christmas trees are available on the Panguitch Lake District. Cutting will be done on the following davs: Friday and Saturday, Nov. 22 and 23, Nov. 29 and 30. Tags will be issued to individuals at the local Forest Office. Alpine fir. ponderosa pine and pinon pine are available. Special instructions as to where they can be cut will be given when the tags are issued. Cost will be $1.00 for each tag or family. Metal tags to be fastened to the trees will be issued. It is illegal to cut trees on the National Forest without possessing a tag and it Is Illegal to transport trees without having valid tag properly attached to the tree.
