SMITH Mr. and Mrs.Floyd Richards of Tropic had the following for Thanksgiving dinner: Min nie and lorn Smith and Paula Shafer from hero; the Herman Swapp family oi Silver City, New Mexico; the Thayne Smith family of Los Angeles, Calif.; the Daryl Shumway family of Heber City, also Eruin Brown of Ship Rock, Arizona who lives with the Shumways and goes to school there; the Bill Snyder family of Hoi-brook, Arizona; Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Vance of Sparks, Nevada; Candis Riggs of Anchor age, Alaska who is attending BYU. This is the first time the family of Miiini Smith has been together in 25 years. The following day the children of Minnie Smith had a nice birthday party for her on her both birthday at the Henrieville chapel wilh a large crowd of relatives and friends calling to visit the family. Cal Chynoweth was ordained to the office of a Teacher in Priesthood on Sunday. Several from here attended Stake Priesthood and Sunday School meetings in Escalante Sunday Lucille Meacham is here visiting at the home of Frank and Lula Moore. She visited h?r brother Ray Nellson at Monroe and reports he is some better. Bryan and Mathew Johnson of Washington were in town Saturday, they visited with his mother Lovisa Johnson and other relatives. SP5 Milton Rose surprised his family, the David Roses, with a visit. He Is on furlough from Vietnam where he has been stationed for the past year. We are all glad he has returned from his tour in Vietnam. Dave and Delpha Rose attended funeral services recently for Nora Rose at Monroe. Those spending Thanksgiving at the Rose home were the Theron Roses. Verland Roses, Max Roses, and Collin, Collette, Brenda and Galen Rose who are attending school at Cedar City. Marion Willis was at Provo last week for the Senior Citizen Dance on Tuesday, and on Wednesday he attended "Chri-tsmas Around the World" presented by the BYU International Dancers. There were over 400 participating. David and Eda Quitter returned home from Salt Lake City where he underwent an operation for blood clots in his leg. Fred and Marion Qullter brought them home. He is recovering and Is walking around and doing real good now. Fred and family wishes to tell everyone hello. We are happy Uncle Dave is well enough to be back home. Vernon and Ethel Griffin of Escalante visited the Leland Griffin family. Layton, Melba and JoAnn Smith picked up Mildred Deu el a Panguitch and went to Salt Lake City last Wednesday for a doctor appointment and to visit relatives. They visited the families of Verdee and Le Von Deuel; Stanley and Doris Liles; Vaughn and Alta Rae Hansen, and Jim and Virginia Neagle. They returned home on Saturday. Layton visited Mary Carol Izatt and children. Mary Lou Neilson and Lovisa Johnson celebrate birthdays this week. It is the anniversary of Milton and Brenda Rose Everyone Is glad that Harry Partner was well enough to be released from the hospital and Is home now. |
