Show Repubs Fill Slate, Demos Spot Two The deadline for filing for elective posts to be filled this fall indicated a dearth of Democrats in Garfield County. Only two Democrats filed for county posts; Bob Middle-ton for two year commissioner, and George W Thompson for assessor. Three of the seven jobs are already in the bag with only one person filing under the Republican heading and none under the Democratic. They are, Recorder, incumbent Helen D. Wright . Clerk-Auditor. Incumbent Rea Dodds and Treasurer. Merle Stowcll who would succeed retiring Mary S. Lee. For Garfield County Commissioner, 2 year term. James P. Yardley, incumbent is unopposed on the Republican side, and former commissioner Robert A. Middleton is unopposed on the Democratic side. For Garfield County Commissioner, 4 year term. Dale Marsh, incumbent, and W. M. Christensen have filed. For Sheriff, incumbent Keith Fackrell and Garth Veater. on the Republican side. For Assesor there are three people on the Republican side. Charlie M. Allen. Doyle V. Cottam. and Robert G. Sor-ensen" On the Democratic side George W. Thompson has filed for the Job. |
