Show Henrieville News Items MELBA D. SMITH Last week Virginia Smith visited her sister Divida Smith and family in Genola her relatives Don and Leona Oliver of Granger came to see her. The Earl Jolleys took Virginia to spend Mother's Day with her son Dar and their daughter Helen Smith and family at St. George. Earl Coffman spent a few days last week in Springvllle with his family and to bring building supplies for the Lee Smith home. Last Tuesday Omer and Cecil Reid of Las Vegas and Mildred Deuel visited at the Lay-ton Smith home. They took Mrs. Deuel to Salt Lake City to visit her son Verdee Deuel at St. Mark's Hospital. Jim and Rae Smith went to Panguitch last Tuesday where Rae got her drivers license. The doctor said that Sheri Neilson can go to school now after her sickness of rheumatic fever for several months. Jan Liston of Escalante and Bunny Goulding of Nevada were in town last Friday. Olaf Shakespear has gone to Wyoming to work on the oil wells. Some of the men here have started work for Kaibab Lumber Co. Ruby Moore started work at Bryce Canyon on Monday. Rett and Christine Shakespear and two children came to spend Mother's Day with their parents, the Layton Smiths and E. R. Shakespears. A baby girl was born May 9th to Bruce and Kristene; Rose; the grandparents are the Jack Chynoweths of Tropic and the Irving Roses. Great grandmothers are Roxie Chynoweth and Emily Pollock. The Sunday School presented a Mother's Day program Sunday morning and gave each mother a potted tarnation plant. Speakers In Sacrament meeting were Alton Shakespear and Ellis I.eFevre, representing the Stake High Council Mrs Shakespear acompanied them. The Dave Roses visited in Cedar City on Saturday. Sunday Ken aii,: Artolse Piatt of Richfield visited at the Rose home. The Eldred Aseys and son of Salt Lake visited Johnson relatives Sunday and attended Sacrament meeting. Dave and Kathryn Pollock of Cedar City surprised her parents, the Kenneth Gould-ings, on Friday by coming to spend Mother's Day. Ken Goulding had a minor accident while gathering cattle on Saturday. Harry and Thora Partner and Marilyn went to Panguitch Sunday to visit her mother Mrs Dean Hughes. Lula and Fran-kie Moore and Ton! Neilson went with them to visit Cloyd Neilson in the hospital. Lula took her two grandsons back to Panguitch to their mother Sunday. The Cloyd Neilson family visited in town Saturday.Cloyd was cutting trees and met with an accident and is in the Panguitch hospital. Kay and Laura Clark spent the weekend here. Ruby Moore returned home Saturday after several weeks visit at Salt Lake, Roy and Ogden. She reports that Vaughn and Alta Rae Hansen have purchased a home on Jupiter Drive in Salt Lake, their neighbor is Bob Weltie. the news caster. Also that Doris Liles, her son Jeris and wife Bonnie are going to see her daughter Sanbina and husband and her new grandson in Alabama and visit relatives in Mississippi The Dave Millett family of Cedar Cty visited the Ora Sha-fers over the weekend. Cora and Keith Johnson and family of Springville spent the weekend at the Herschel Partners. Bonnie Mecham and two children are spending a few days with her grandmother Roxie Chynoweth. Bemice Goulding took her mother Mrs. Renee Osborn and sister Jo Barney to Milford on Saturday for the funeral of their great aunt Lanora Smith Those celebrating birthdavs this week are Orla Gae Zabris kie, Irving Rose. On Monday Roy and Bonnie Willis from Rryce Canyon visited at her home and to help her water her lot Roy had a minor accident hurting his leg and had to go to the doctor to have it taken care of. |
