Show Meeting Called To Outline The Future Of Garfield County A county-wide meeting of the citizens who have been preparing recommended goals and policies for future growth and development of Garfield County will be held at Bryce Valley High School in Tropic on Thursday, April 2, at 7:30 p.m. County Commissioners, City Councilmen and Town Board members will be present, and also representatives of Federal and state agencies who have been assisting the several committees. Many citizens have been acting on advisory committees for the preparation of the Garfield County master plan. Three community committees were formed each having five sub-committees. One of these has been working in the Escalante-Boulder area; a second group has covered the Henrieville-Cannon-ville-Tropic; and the third has been working the Antimony-Hatch-Panguitch area. Five different subjects have been studied: 1. Circulation sad Transportation. 2. Economic Development, Commerce, Industry, County-wide Recreation and Tourism. 3. Agriculture, Forestry and Conservation. 4. Community Services and Facilities Health, Education, Welfare, Housing, Local Recreation, Law aiforce-ment and Utilities. 5. Local Government, Planning, Legislation, Community Design and Appearance, and Renewel. At the meeting, It is expected that the chairman of each sub-committee will report his committee's recommendations, and provide a written statement which can be used as a guide toward preparation of the master plan. Chairmen of the committees are: Antimony Hatch - Panguitch General chairman. Commissioner James Yardley. Subcommittee chairmen: Mrs. Joseph Foy ; Mrs. Ray Englestead; Carl Famsworth; Mrs. Gall Du-ckett ; and Herbert Allen. Henrieville - Cannonville -Tropic: General chairman, Leland Griffin. Sub - committee chairmen: Joe Hughes; Ellis LeFevre; Dewey Willis; Marion Shakespear and Guy Evans. Escalante - Boulder: General chairman. Dale Marsh. Subcommittee chairmen: Lynn Gates; Leland Haws; Richard Griffin; Marilyn Griffin and Nethella Woolaey. The preliminary master plan will be presented to the Board of County Commissioners, City Councils, Town Boards and the the public at a meeting sometime in May or early June.
