Show Five Dixie National Forest Personnel Get Retirement Send-Off Flve Dixie National Forest employees have announced plans to retire in the near future. Mark Jones, District Ranger on the Panguitch Lake District, was approved for a disability retirement after 32 years of service In Utah and Arizona; Herb Stoker, GDA on the Panguitch Lake District, after more than 18 years of service; Sterns Mecham, GDA on the Escalante District, after more than 22 years of service; Alton Shakespear, Forest Worker, Powell Ranger District, after more than 7 years, and Earl Jolley, Forest Worker, Powell Ranger District, after more than 5 years of service. A farewell dinner was held on November 14th at the Flying M Restaurant. A total of 100 people attended the occasion to honor these retiring people who have done such an outstanding job in the field of conservation. Special guests returning to honor these individuals were former Rangers Bruce Hronek and Don Cox, and former Deputy Forest Supervisor Leland Hcywood. Musical entertainment was provided by Phil Baylcs of Es-calanto on the pilta- ?nd Norn Huntsman accompanied by his wife, LaRee, on tho piano. Everyone seemed to have an enjoyable time on this somewhat solemn occasion. |
