Ode To A Teacher Blessings on thee tired teacher, It must be a thrill to thee that thou didst survive the school year and retain thy sanity. Many were your tribulations as you struggled with a vim, to improve the minds of students and often it was grim. You're expected to be perfect even If their parents aint. having lots of knowhow and the patience of a Saint. In olden days the teachers were allowed a ruler touch to lop the ears of culprits, some were treated rath er rough. Now that sort of thing's forbidden and is not your cup of tea, "the laying on of hands" is for them but not for thee If some young hopeful does not mind thee and does curse thee without shame, judo is forbidden, brass knucks and guns the same, you cannot even scold him as you may his feeling hurt warp his personality and make of him an introvert. Now relax and get thy bearings as the days are far too few until the schools reopen and you know what you must do. |
