Show PRELIMINARY NOTICE OF NATIONAL FOREST TIMBER SALE The following proposed timber sale areas on the Dixie National Forest are intended to be advertised for sale prior to the next field season. Prospective bidders are urged to examine the area now before winter weather prevents on-the-ground observation of important sale area conditions, information concerning the timber and conditions of sales may be obtained from the district ranger concerned or the Forest Supervisor, Dixie National Forest, Cedar City, Utah. Final stumpage prices, estimated volume by species, bidding conditions and other contract specifications will be announced upon final advertisement. The Hog Ranch unit is located on the Escalante Ranger District in the North Creek drainage in T. 33 and 34 S., R. 1 E., Salt Lake Base Meridian. The area is about 6100 acres in size and contains an estimated cut volume of from about 14,000 M to 15,000 M feet. A show-mc trip of the sale area was made on November 12, 1963. Interested parties wishing to examine the area, who were not able to make the trip, should make arrangements with the District Ranger at Escalante, Utah. The Everett Hollow No. 1 u-nit is located on the Cedar City Ranger District in the Strawberry Creek dainage in T. 38 and 39 S., R. 7 W.; T. 38 S..R. 8 W.; Salt Lake Base Meridian The area is about 2170 acres in size and contains an estimated cut volume of about 6,550 M feet. Interested parties wishing to visit the sale a-rea or on-the-ground observations should make arrangements with the District Forest Ranger at Cedar City, Utah.
