Show Business Places Burglarized Burglers broke into two business places in Panguitch early Saturday morning, and took an estimated $500 in merchandise and cash. Burglarized were S. and C Merc, on Main St. and the K.C.I. Sinclair Service station on Center St. Clerks Mamie T. Hatch and Margie Prince of S & C told that when they opened the store at 8 a.m. they found the back door unbarred. According to Sheriff George Middle-ton and City Marshal Mayo Riggs, who made an investigation, the burglars pried the big back doors apart enough to insert something to lift up the heavy bar securing the doors. Evidently there were two men involved. Taken were slacks In waist sizes 34 and 38, sport shirts In medium and large sizes, and boots and shoes in sizes 10 and 10. Luggage and other items as well as cash were also taken. The thieves gained entry at the Sinclair station by breaking a window and crashing in. According to Wallace Miller who opened the station the crime was discovered when needed keys were found to be missing. The thieves had used the keys to empty the change drawer in a soft drink machine. Other possible loss would await inventory. |
